About the Position
We are currently seeking an early career Information Technology Specialist with knowledge and experience in data and information systems, specifically databases and advanced spreadsheet capabilities. The ideal candidate will also have a broader set of inquiry, problem-solving, and communication skills and competencies that would enable them to expand their role over time. The initial project is to assist in the development of a structured relational database for small-medium enterprise (SME) size data sets (<5000 records). Initial tasks will include:
Requirement and conceptual design analysis and recommendations
Logical design support, analysis and recommendations
Physical design (including tables, forms, reports)
Data population and testing
Security, access and recovery
Deployment and monitoring
Other data management and communication tasks
The database solution will be built and deployed on a user friendly cloud-based relational database and collaboration tool that is also supported by an existing iOS app. Whilst the build doesn’t specifically require SQL programming, a general knowledge of spreadsheet formula syntax and SQL principles and concepts is important.
There is an opportunity to transition to a full-time position at Saksara for the right candidate, and we encourage both candidates seeking a short-term contract or a longer term position to apply. We believe that everyone’s knowledge, skills, and competencies should be transferable to new contexts throughout the course of their career.
